FILE SHARING GUIDELINES

  • To share your files with me remotely, use either DropBox or WeTransfer.
  • For mastering, send me your final mixes.
  • For mixing, see below:

    WHAT TO SEND ME

    • Your Pro Tools sessions, or your stems if your music was recorded in another DAW
    • The BPM of each track in its folder name
    • Your rough mix
    • Any notes about what you want

    STEM GUIDELINES

    • Make sure all your stems line up at the same starting point
    • Export mono tracks as mono files and stereo tracks as stereo files
    • Name the exported tracks/stems simply and accurately
    • Export at the same resolution as your original recording session (e.g. 44.1kHz / 24-bit)
    • Disable all plugins to remove processing before exporting (or leave plugins active to send me processed audio)
    • Make sure your audio edits have proper crossfades to avoid “pops”
    • Don’t export tracks so loud that they’re digitally distorted or clipped

    RAW OR PROCESSSED?

It depends. If you send me processed stems, then with all my channels zeroed I should get your mix how you left it. If this sounds good, I can build on your results. If your mix wasn’t working, it may take me more time to fix things than if I had started fresh. If you’re not sure, send me both and I’ll work with what serves my mix best, otherwise just send me the raw audio and I’ll build my mix from scratch.
